E) explain how the endocrine system contributes to the homeostasis of blood oxygen levels

Blood clotting is one of nature’s most elegant creations, but it sometimes goes awry. Use your knowledge of different types of blood cells and the chemical aspects of the clotting process to answer the following:
a) After getting his blood cell count, Josh was informed that his platelet count was low. What is a typical platelet count? How would Josh’s low platelet count impact his hemostasis after getting a cut on his forearm? (Be very specific)
b) Briefly explain the different roles of the three stages of the intrinsic blood clotting pathway
c) Explain how any event that prevents plasminogen from becoming fully activated would lead to a thromboembolic disorder. Identify all the chemicals that directly activate plasminogen.
d) Identify the two most common types of the genetic disorder called hemophilia. Explain how each of two types of hemophilia result in impaired hemostasis.
e) Explain how the endocrine system contributes to the homeostasis of blood oxygen levels

Are there specific medications that you can give to treat the disease?

Reproductive Disease Poster Assignment
Chosen Disease Name: Endometritis in Horses
OBJECTIVES:
• Create a visual synopsis of a reproductive disease
• Design an eye-catching and informative poster with accurate information
• Describe the disease in detail utilizing the poster, including name, description, history, cause, treatment, and avoidance of the disease
• Distinguish different types of reference materials used as bibliographic information for poster
POSTER INFORMATION/GUIDELINES
Your poster will be created in Microsoft PowerPoint.
The poster will include information about all aspects of the reproductive disease that you have picked. Each area will be assessed for your poster and should be easily read by an audience that can view your poster from two to five feet away.
Your poster should include the following topics:
NAME OF THE DISEASE:
Include the specific name of your disease, including any scientific names and nicknames that the disease is also known as in some parts of the world.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DISEASE:
Provide a brief description of the disease and inform the audience about the importance of this disease in relation to animal reproduction. If this disease only affects a certain species, be sure to mention this in the description. You can even mention in this section the cost of the disease!
HISTORY OF THE DISEASE:
Understanding the history of the disease will sometimes uncover why the disease is named a certain way, or how the disease originated in a certain species. Describe the history of your disease briefly.
CAUSE OF THE DISEASE
Explain how an animal contracts the disease. Does the disease need a host to replicate or infect? Describe the lifecycle of the disease here. In the section, you can also describe the pathogenicity of the disease, and how animals pass the disease on to one another.
TREATMENT OF THE DISEASE:
Some diseases have specific treatments, and some do not. Illustrate the treatments, if any, for your disease. Are there specific medications that you can give to treat the disease? Should the animal be culled or treated?
AVOIDANCE OF THE DISEASE:
In order to evade treatment, producers and animal owners may need to employ avoidance strategies for your disease. How would a producer avoid the disease? Are there specific management practices that the producer can utilize to manage the disease, if it does occur? Can the disease be eradicated from an animal population?
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
In a document, please type your name, your approved topic and the title, Annotated Bibliography. In a bulleted list, using APA format, list a minimum five (5) references, and under each reference, a short paragraph should be typed describing the reference in 150 words minimum, 200 words maximum. Your maximum list of references should be no more than 15 references. Give a short description for EACH REFERENCE.
Please submit your poster in either POWERPOINT Presentation .PPT or .PPTX file formats.

RESEARCH (Label this section)
Teach the topic to students. Responses must add new information not previously discussed. Consider new factual information tied with critical thinking. Share interesting and current research on the topic.
Use APA citations in the post to clarify sources.
Do not simply summarize another student’s post and agree/disagree.
Consider starting out posts with, “A research article I found said,” “Did you know,” or “Three things I found interesting were… .”
CRITICAL THINKING (Label this section)
Pose new possibilities or opinions not previously voiced.
Connect the dots. Why is this an important topic for you, your community, society, or the world? How does it relate to other concepts in the text?

Research
As a surgical tech working in Labor and delivery I have seen many mothers asking for a tubal ligation during a Caesarean Section ( C-Section) . Tubal ligation is
a medical sterillication procedure for women who are sure they don’t want a furure pregnancy. Tubal ligation is more complex procedure than a vasectomy and involves
going under general anaesthetic and several scalpel incisions. after the procedure many women will spend several hours in the hospital if the tubal ligation is performed
during a C -section the patient will stay longer . Post procedure patient will have to avoid physical activities after surgery no heavy lifting for about three weeks. This
procedure also may have benefits which include a lower risk of ovarian or tubal cancers and possibly an improvement in menstrual bleeding patterns. average cost for
a tubal ligation 2,880 to 5,163 according to 2021 study in reproductive health. A vasectomy a form of male birth control that cuts the supply of sperm to your semen.
this procedure is performed under local anaesthetic patient has a option to pick twilight . It takes around 15 minutes and the patient is able to leave just about after
the procedure. patient can expect minor discomfort for two to three days mild swelling or bruising. physical activity should be avoided for about two weeks.
research shows that compared to a tubal ligation a vasectomy is not only simpler ,safer and more effective it also alot less expensive . vasectomy average
cost 350 to 1,000.
Critical thinking
Tubal ligation and vasectomies are both more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy . Why don’t more men get vasectomies if they can get it reversal if they
decide to have more children.Ultimately this comes down to lifestyle and personal choice. A vasectomy is preferable for most couples as it has lower rates of
complications, is a simpler procedure and costs less. However tubal ligation is still a very reliable and safe method of sterilisation that many women might choose to
undergo for peace of mind. If you know or suspect that you are both particularly fertile, it’s not unreasonable to undergo both procedures.
